Following Germany's defeat, jubilant celebrations swept across the globe, spanning from Moscow to Los Angeles and Amsterdam. In London, approximately one million people flooded the streets to rejoice in their triumph.


Coinciding with the joyous occasion, the United States commemorated the victory on President Truman's 61st birthday, a moment that held special significance. Truman dedicated the triumph to the memory of Roosevelt, who had passed away a month prior.
