On July 16, 1942, a major operation known as "Spring Breeze" was executed by the German occupiers, led by Eichmann, and carried out by the French police in Paris. This operation resulted in the sweeping roundup of 12,884 Jews, including 4,115 children.
The meticulously planned operation, spanning 36 hours, attracted significant attention due to the presence of numerous uniformed men, a fleet of police vehicles, and Parisian buses. Despite the magnitude of the event, only one snapshot capturing this historic moment has surfaced, and its attribution remains uncertain, although it is believed to have been taken by a photographer from the daily newspaper Paris-Midi.
